Think I caught a cold, and I am not enjoying it. The back of my nose and my throat is sore and i have to constantly drink water and blow my nose. Didn't feel too bad in the morning, but got worse as it went on. Getting a blood test tomorrow, so I can't eat or drink after 9 pm today, which is going to be very hard, as my throat is very sore. I somewhat get that I can't eat food, but I don't understand why you can't drink water. Working on my philosophy assignment, and I'm going to write about AI. I've had a lot of exposure to this, a lot from movies and such. Terminator, I Robot, blade runner not so much, but yeah. There's also the self-driving car scenario.

Had a drink and driving incursion thing at school today. Really, really boring, and most of it was really just either common knowledge or something that you should know if you had your L's. Stuff like you shouldn't drink and drive, don't look at your phone, such and such. The only really interesting was that they brought in someone who was born with a spine deformity(?) and had to spend his life in a wheelchair, and he still played basketball. They brought in a bunch of wheelchairs and has us play basketball in them. Other than that though, nothing really interesting. After school I went and got an x-ray to check my bone age and an ultrasound to check on my cyst. The x-ray was done in like 2 minutes, but the ultrasound took a while, was painful, and they put gel on my hair. The person who was doing the ultrasound had to put pressure on the cyst to actually accurately analyse it, so it hurt a lot. And I had to wash my hair afterwards too. After that we went and had Japan...

Got my results for IPT and japanese. IPT i got 84%, for japanese i got 28/30. Quite happy with both results, especially when I didn't really study for either. For japanese, there was nothing I didn't know and only made mistakes and missed a word from the listening part. The IPT test was a little hard and I didn't know like one or two things about it, but I still got a pretty good mark. Forgot to take my laptop with me today, but luckily I didn't need to use it. My bag was actually super light because of it. Apparently we're having a driving incursion or something tomorrow so I miss out on math and philosophy.

Went to a health center to check on the bump on the back of my head, and the doctor says it may be a sebaceous cyst. That's when a sweat gland gets blocked and some infection happens inside. I'll get an ultra sound to confirm it, and if it is one, apparently they'll cut it out. Handed in the math extension assignment, and now for the rest of the term we do super easy algebra stuff. There was only one really hard exercise in this whole term, actually. I need to brush up my english story and then get started on the philosophy assignment. For the english assignment I just need to edit a couple of things.

The second part of the extension assignment literally takes like 10 minutes, as you're not actually calculating anything, but rather sticking values in a computer and then taking a photo of it. Also the assignment is so much easier than the tings we do in class. In philosophy, we have these discussion lessons on Fridays that usually goes on for about 30-40 minutes, but this time the teacher was quite happy with how we were all so engaged that she just let it go on for the whole lesson.

I reached 100 wpm in typing speed. I think average typing speed is 60 wpm, and my peak used to be around 90 wpm. The thing is though, I can only really reach that speed with a mechanical keyboard. I can't even reach like 80 wpm on my laptop keyboard, mainly because I can't tell if I pressed the button, and I can't tell what button I'm pressing like I can on a mechanical keyboard. Actually, recently, I've been playing pretty well in games in general. My mechanical skill is much better than what it usually is. I've reached 5.5 stars on osu and I've been playing really well in league.

Did the Japanese test and the IPT test today. The Japanese test was dead easy, and I think I got somewhere between 100% and 90%. In the writing section, I wasn't sure about how I wrote Korea, so I got the dictionary and checked, which is allowed, and realized I accidentally wrote prison instead of Korea. I fixed that up and I don't think there were any other mistakes that I made. There was one part which I'm not too sure about in the listening part, but that's just one mark so whatever. The IPT test was not as easy, but it still wasn't too hard. I'm pretty sure I 100%ed the spreadsheet part, but I'm not confident about the theory part. I already got the 7 processes of an information system wrong, so that's 100% out the window. Collecting, organizing, analyzing, storing and retrieving, processing, transmitting and receiving and displaying. In the test, I missed processing and put transmitting and receiving as separate things. There's not many more...

So I started doing the extension assignment, and I'm up to question 4, where it says to find the inverse function of Galileo's pendulum formula. It didn't seem too hard when I looked at it, but when I tried to do it, I realized something. We haven't learnt inverse functions. One week into receiving the assignment, and there's a question inside the assignment where we haven't been taught. And the teacher that I have is blind and can't see my hand. Even if he asks me, he explains in such a bad way that I'd rather just not ask. I realize now, one day before the japanese test, that some of the phrases I've learnt I haven't learnt properly. There just some small things that I need to fix. There's just sometimes the sound is extended, and has an extra u or i that's really hard to recognize through speech. But now I've learnt that, I think I'll take precautions in the test. In IPT, the teacher told me that any diagram that you do sho...

Exams are coming in soon, and I think I'm prepared for most of the tests. There's not much I'm not sure about, and the only assignment I've yet to start is the philosophy one. The math extension one I started today and am gonna chip away at it everyday, the Japanese and IPT test is this Wednesday, which I'm pretty confident with. We had an IPT practice test, where we just did some spreadsheet work. We were given 25 minutes to finish it, and I finished it in around 5 mins without any mistake, so I'm confident in the practical part of the exam. The theory part though, is a little shaky. I can still get more than half the answers correct, but I feel like I'm missing some general knowledge. For example, I didn't know the different in size with flash drives, zip drives, DVDs and CDROMs. The weather suddenly got super cold, so I wore long pants for today. It feels much more comfortable and much more warmer. I still want to wear my scarf and gloves, but the...

In SDD, we were given a problem where the problem was quite simple, but when the teacher didn't allow a function, suddenly got a little harder. The question was to separate the digits from one big number and to separately print them. So 8261 should return 8, 2, 6, 1. Using a text function, we can pick out one individual number at once, but since it is a text function, the teacher told us to think of a way to do it without using that function. From there, it became a mathematics problem. What we thought of was to divide the number by 1000 and get the integer for that number, then continue doing that for the other numbers. We got the amount of digits from the user, since we couldn't get the length of the digit without using a text function. I worked a little on the english assignment in class, and the maximum work count is supposed to be 1200, and I reached 1100, and I'm only around half-way of the story. I'll have to cut out a lot of things, so I guess I'm going t...

We got our philosophy assignment, which is a research assignment on any philosophical topic, and  in between 1500 and 2000 words. I went on google and literally just searched up "Philosophical questions" to look for ideas, and I discovered a bunch of interesting ideas. One of them was: "If humanity's life expectancy was significantly increased to 500 years, what would happen?". This got me thinking. This gives us as an advancing society so much room to work with. Super smart people such as Stephen Hawking or Einstein living as much as 500 years would have been phenomenal. Our technology would take leaps, our theories and understanding of the world and universe would increase significantly, it would overall just be great. We're finally on the extension booklet for maths, and I have to say, the difficulty really is different. The teacher tried to explain it, and it confused me even more, so I think whenever that happens I'm just going to completely ign...

People who does physics had a physics test today, and it sounds like it was really hard. In one of the classes, apparently half of the people don't think they passed. One of the reasons I didn't pick a science is because I hated writing the practical stuff, like the hypothesis and the things. In IPT, we used something called a Student Response Network, which basically the teacher sets up a server, and the students join it, and they can do certain things, like raise their hand, which will send an alert and play a sound, the teacher can give a multiple choice question and students can enter their answer, and the same with yes and no questions. If I can get one of these programs and use it with my friends to do something like trivia night or something, that'll be fun. The extension assignment is way easier than the advanced one. Its clear, it gives you a table of values, tells you which equations to use, doesn't need a stupid website to make a scale diagram, etc. It ju...

We finished all the theory needed for SDD, so from now on until the end of term 2, we'll just do raw programming, which I'm really happy about. This term we have a practical assignment where we have to program something within a period, but next term we'll be given a programming task to do over the whole term. That's why we got all of the theory out of the way, so we have more time to do the assignment in term 2. I'm just watching a guide about league of legends, and I realize now how big and complicated the game is. The simple way to explain the game is to destroy the enemy's nexus which is in their base, but there's so many little things that people take advantage of that it just becomes such a complicated game. The one I watched was on lane management, where instead of just focusing on farming(killing minions) and winning small skirmishes with your opponent, you manipulate the minions in your lane to get a more tactical position. It's really mind bl...

Finished and handed in the maths assignment, and a lot of the people started it and finished it yesterday, and I had to help a hand full of them. One of my friends literally had to help every single person in our group out. So we made a new rule, that if you ask for help on the very last day, we won't help you. Another thing about that assignment that was terrible was that there were so many grey areas. It barely told you what to do, and never really told you what you couldn't do. So I was constantly worrying over it like is this what it asked for, can I do this, it doesn't necessarily say I can't do it, but will I get marked down for it, etc. There was one question where it asked for a value that satisfies certain restrictions, and the answer was anything higher than a certain number, so it could be either 500, or 500000000000 and it wouldn't matter. The extension assignment that we got looks a lot like a physics assignment. Literally the first question is ...

We now have too many players playing league of legends, that we have too many people and instead of playing matchmade games, and we just play custom games, like 3v3 or 3v4. While this isn't as fun as a proper game, it does help a little bit with skill. Since I'm almost always playing against the better players of the game, it kinda is good for me. So 40 WPM is the average person's typing speed. Mine is around 90 WPM, at the highest on my mechanical keyboard. Any other keyboard I use is mostly around 80 WPM. Meanwhile, one of the fastest in typing competitions are like 150 WPM or something, but a friend of mine reaches around 250 WPM at his peak, so who knows, maybe he's just a god. I'm sure if he went to a competition on a good day he'd wipe out a lot of the people. Suddenly the weather's been changing drastically. Yesterday it was cold and raining, and now its boiling hot with or without the sun. Because of this, I have two pants for sleeping. One short...

One of my friends have started to come to tkd, so I'll actually have someone to partner up with that's around my level and not a black belt. I don't know if he'll be able to stick with it, since he does have to go 30 minutes to get there. however, his mum wants him to do it, so he'll probably stick with it. As i guessed, after cancelling the physiotherapy once, the next week gets cancelled. So this week, I don't go to physio, and I just go to the exercise thing with my friends. There's some people coming that I didn't expect to come, so I'm looking forward to how it's going to be like. I've been doing the maths assignment bit by bit, and some of the questions are really, really unclear. One of the questions asks me to place a TV in the back of the stage, but it doesn't say to find any of the sides, or if we need to show it on a new picture of the diagram, or to do it on the one we've already printed out. I don't know what I...

I've been helping out my friends for maths, and I can't tell if I'm the one thats explaining badly, or if they're stupid. I think its the former, since these concepts just click into my brain and just stay there, so I don't really have a specific way I learnt it. There are people who say like take this approach to understand it, look at it this way, use these tricks, etc. But all I can really say is look and get it. So my mum went and bought this chair seat thing that kind of makes you sit down with proper posture, and all I can say is that it does its job, and that it is really tiring to sit on this thing. It also makes the seat quite a bit higher, so I had to readjust my monitor as well. I haven't played a game yet, so I don't know if it'll badly affect my gameplay or not, but I don't think it'll be that bad.

Started doing the Maths advanced assignment and I've come to realize that the assignment is very stupid. The questions it asks are very unclear, and it feels more like an english comprehension assignment more than a maths assignment. Furthermore, you have to use an online geometry tool to make a scale diagram of your quadrilateral, which is really annoying, and their reasoning is: "When you start working, they might ask you go use these sort of tools.". What kind of company uses a stupid, hard to use and childish program? I had to restart because I messed up the conversion of km^2 and m^2, after I got up to question 4. I'm going to do it bit by bit everyday, since there's not much of it. I might lose the top seat of maths because it's an assignment, but whatever. Thankfully, that's the only real assignment that I have to do. IPT has an exam, SDD has an exam, Japanese has an exam, English has an assignment, but I've already written a draft, and philo...
