We got our reports sent to our parents. People who had their or asked for their parents logins through mobile got an early look at their reports, and since there was only one test/assignment they were assessed on, received pretty good marks. I think there was a forest fire or something near the school, because it was weirdly smokey, and on the way home the trees across the street looked a little burnt and stuff. Whenever I heard someone talking about calculus and how hard it is, I always though that it would be super hard and some university level stuff, but now that I learnt it, it's just algebra and some rules that you have to apply. It really isn't too hard.

The times for brightburn on sunday are only on 9:40 at night, which is not optimal time for us. Unless we get good times for the movie, we probably wouldn't watch it. Maybe we'll pirate it later and watch it at someone's house. I found a way to get my program to incorporate splitting. It was kind of a post-test loop using a pre-test loop. At the end of the loop, I just checked for the condition, and if that condition was true, I would just change the sentinel value of that while loop in was in. Going to start taking my scarf to school tomorrow, as it is way to cold to go without one now. The teacher that was super fussy about uniform left the school, so should be okay now.

Received a permission note for a Islamic speaker to come in and talk to us about the religion on ethical beliefs of the Islamic people. It was actually meant to be for year 12's society and culture class, but our philosophy teach decided it would be good for us to partake in as well. I found a problem in my SDD assignment, which is that for my idea to work, I need to use a post-test loop, but Small Basic can't use post-test loops. Starting to receive a lot of exam notifications now. I got the maths one, getting the english and the japanese one on friday and we'll probably get our philosophy one soon.

We're doing a case study on BBC's Sherlock TV series. We started watching the first episode, "A study in pink". I've already seen up to the end of season 2, but I still haven't watched season 3, so I'm gonna try to find a way to watch it, because right now you can only watch it on Stan. Came back from home and I was just gonna lie down for a bit but I ended up sleeping for 2 hours. Received the math exam notification, and yeah it's on 6 chapters on the advanced book.

There was a seminar for learning how to study. It took up a whole lesson and didn't really teach us much. It was just stuff about doing independent study from school actually studying. The person said something about how the average year 11 student studies 2 hours a day, and I think that's just not true. I only know one person who studies in my year and he does like 3 hours a day. Today was super cold at lunch, so I spend it in the library playing mafia. It was sunny between the morning and lunch, but during lunch and last period it was actually really dark. Friends are going to watch vivid on Saturday, but I'm not gonna bother to go, since I've already seen it before and its in the city at night.

Planning to go watch brightburn with my friends next Sunday. We thought that it came out on September, but apparently it came out yesterday or something. The school canteen had to remove all the snacks and sugary stuff because of the department of education, and so now there's literally nothing worth buying at the canteen anymore. Made an auto clicker from auto hot keys so I can afk farm on minecraft. It was actually quite easy to make.

The rhythm game that I bought has proved to be much harder than it seems. The most difficult part is that There are 4 keys, up left right and down, but I'm so used to using only 3 fingers for it, that I can't hit all of them at once. We're so far ahead in math that we've done most of the topics that we need to for this term, and we'll probably start reviewing for the test around next week, which is before we even receive the test notification. Friends went to watch John Wick, and they still haven't come back yet. Maybe they started watching the actual movie later and just hung out at the mall for a while.

Found another rhythm game on steam, called Intralism, and I think I'm going to buy it. It's only $4.50 anyway, and it looks very cool. Instead of the osu kind of game where you move a cursor and tap, you just tap up down left or right. Simple, aesthetically pleasing, and good music as well. Overwatch is celebrating their 3rd year anniversary, and every time they do special events like this, they do it big every time. They normally do things for Halloween and Christmas, with gamemodes and events to go along with it. This time, it'll cycle through every event that has come out before. I got to rank 9 on hearthstone. There are 25 ranks, and the lower the number the better. I didn't really expect to get past rank 10 with a free to play deck, but I guess I've got better at the game.

Friends are planning to go watch John Wick 3, but I don't think I'm going to go watch it with them, since I don't really care too much about it and I can't be bothered to leave the house for it. Most of John Wick is just action anyway. Learning katakana in Japanese now, and remembering katakana is much easier than learning hiragana for the first time. I think I remembered up to 20 characters in one lesson. Even after just one day of not washing my hair, there's so much dandruff.

Finished watching endgame, and don't read the next few sentences of this paragraph if you don't want spoilers. I think the time travel in the movie was all over the place with a lot of holes in it, but I don't think anyone really cared about that part. All everyone wanted to see was a massive fight scene with every single person in the MCU. And that happened, and everyone was happy. We're making some creative poem things in English. Its something called a blackout poem, where you get an already existing text and cherry picking some words to make a poem out of it. I've made two, and it's both somehow ended up about being flowers. One was about a black rose, and the other was about a bouquet. I guess since the words bouquet and rose were there it was easier to do that. After not playing anything together, my friends are finally starting to play competitive games again. After playing a couple of overwatch games, we're also going to try and get back into som...

Power went out during math, and I was really glad that it didn't go out when I was doing SDD. There's some construction work going around and they probably hit a power line or something. We did a mock SDD test, and I ended up being the top, albeit being by one mark. I think I knew the answers of most answers, and if I didn't, and educated guess did me well for it. After playing a lot of games of overwatch, it's safe to safe that we've dropped down in rank by a lot. We went from around diamond down to silver.

People who do chemistry went on a excursion pretty far away today. They apparently went to a nuclear power plant. They were gone for the whole day and so most of my classes were half empty. I'm planning to go to the movies on saturday to watch endgame because i missed it last time. I haven't asked any friends yet, but I'm sure they'll be willing to come watch it with me. If not, I'll just watch it myself, because I don't think I can go longer without being spoiled any more. I got the aces working in my blackjack game, but I realized that my code has some repeating areas, making my program pretty large. I think I'll optimize it after I get the game running.

I think I'll watch endgame and detective pikachu on the weekends. There is a time for endgame on Saturday and maybe pikachu on sunday. I've heard that the pikachu movie is pretty bad, but I think I'm still gonna watch it. We started playing overwatch again, and I thought that we were doing fine when we played casual games, but as soon as we started playing competitive we got stomped. Its partly because our ranks are super high from when we used to play ages ago. We'll probably just lose a bunch so that we can drop down some ranks. I ended up thinking it was wednesday and going to the wrong class on the first period, but I realized my mistake and went to the right one. I thought that I packed the wrong things as well, but since monday, tuesday and wednesday for week A all have the same subjects, I was alright.

So a minecraft game that was actively played on for 5 years came to an end around a week ago. Unlike a normal minecraft game where if you die you can just re spawn, but he played on Hardcore, which means the game is harder, and if you die once, that's the game over. You don't get to respawn, all you can do afterwards is just fly around not being able to interact with the world. In those five years he did very impressive things, and now that it's over, it's spread really quickly, even on news articles and news channels. I've also been playing more of minecraft recently, and specifically tried doing things about redstone. Making little machines that automate some tasks. Right now I'm creating a 3 by 3 elevator, by changing how someone made a 2 by 2 elevator. Even though it's just a change in size, it makes the redstone much harder to make. For this term's math test, I think I'll actually need to revise quite a bit, since there's so much content...

The IPT assignment is quite confusing in what I need to do, so I think what I'll do is finish off my SDD assignment first, because even though we're only 1/5 of the way through the time given, I'm almost finished the game. I just started programming the aces, and that's probably the hardest part of it. The problem is that they can have the value of 1 or 11, and changes based on the full value of the hand. I want to get a VR set, mainly for this one music game called beat saber. There's boxes that come at you, and you have to hit them on the right side. It looks really fun. That said though, VR sets are super expensive, and require a bit of space. To get back into overwatch, I'm going to actually have to do homework on the patch notes for a while. I stopped playing it for a while, and now that I'm getting back into it, there's a lot of patch notes and new heroes and stuff I have to catch up on.

I said that I'd download overwatch overnight yesterday, but I'm so used to turning everything off that I forgot to. I'll try not to forget it this time, as I kinda do want to get into it again. The weather is at that awkward stage where when I try to sleep, level 1 on the heater isn't warm enough but level 2 is too hot, so it's really annoying. Season 3 for lucifer came out yesterday, after getting picked up after its cancellation. It's a pretty good show, so I'm going to start watching it.

I was gonna go to the movies on saturday to watch endgame, but even after 2 weeks of its release, half of the seats are reserved. I did look at another time, but since it's 3 hours long, there's not too many screenings in a day. We'll either book online, take our chances, or pay extra to watch on the bigger screen instead. Getting my stitches removed tomorrow, and we're going to a medical clinic instead of a proper hospital, so it seems like it's not such a bad or intensive operation. They'll probably partly tranquilize me and then just take them out. The weather is at that season where its super cold in the night and morning, but also annoyingly warm on the way back from school. Going to school I wear a jacket and everything, but when I get back home I'm a little warmer than I would be comfortable.

The aces in the blackjack game I was programming seemed to be a problem. The problem was that the ace counts either as a 1 or an 11, so I'd need to turn the variable handvalue into an array or something. I was thinking that when an ace is drawn what I'd do is make handvalue[1] the value when ace is a one, and handvalue[2] when the value of the ace is an 11. But this poses a problem. If I draw two aces, I'd need 4 cells, and if I draw more, I need more cells exponentially. So that's not going to work. I searched up a solution on google, and it said to just treat the ace as an 11, and when the handvalue goes over 21, just -10 from it. Had maths yesterday, but most of us only really got up to question 3, since the concept was super hard. The worse thing is that our teacher isn't here right now, and so we have a sub that doesn't teach maths, or at least extension maths, so we had to figure it out ourselves. I ended up figuring it out after the lesson ended. I th...

So I got my English results back, and unfortunately I got just under 85%. I got 16/20, which is 80%. I don't know what the average was, but I'm guessing the average is somewhere around 15/20. The teacher said that I did well, and that the reflection was solid. Received and started the IPT assignment. This is probably going to be the most annoying assignment this term. Its on a feasibility study on changing a system for either a high school, medical clinic or an aquatic center. Since there's the athletics carnival tomorrow, I don't go to school. I'd probably just stay home and either do the homework, do the assignment or play games.

In philosophy we watched a video on this guy called Apollo Robbins, and basically he talked about sleight of hand and the illusions of our perception. Watching him do the sleight of hand tricks were crazy though. Taking coins from his hand and placing them on their shoulder without them noticing, taking off their watches and putting it on his own without them noticing. Very quick and pretty much unperceivable the first time you watch it. I was supposed to receive my english marks today, but the teacher apparently didn't notice mine until today, so I'll get it back by monday. A little annoying, but whatever. This term wasn't so bad because the topic was creative writing, but this term its analysis and such so it'll be harder. I hurt my finger while reaching into my bag. I was going to grab my lunch, and the edge of the plastic juice pouch thing stabbed me under the nail. Really annoying, and a stupid way to draw blood.

The SDD test looks to be very simple after a little bit of work on it. All I've done so far is create a deck, and I can already see a way to map out all the little parts of it. We have 10 weeks to do it, but I think I can finish the program in like 3. I tried a practice test of the driver's test, and I did pretty well, even without studying at all. I think with just a bit of studying, I should be able to 100% the test. My friends are deciding to go to shit "free comics" event where they'll be allowed to get 4 free comic books from a store. They're going to go super early, as in like, before the sun is up. They're apparently also going to walk for an hour.

I got my SDD marks back, and I did pretty well, with 94%. We haven't officially gotten them back yet, so I don't know what I did wrong yet. The surprising thing is though, the class average was 41%. All the averages for the separate components were also below passing grade. Something like 5 people just got flat 0. If this was the HSC, I would be getting a ridiculous ATAR. Also got my philosophy marks back, and it was what I estimated it would be, which was 75%. Like 3 of the boys got 100%, which was also surprising. Started thinking about how I would do my blackjack program, and for now I've thought of how to make a deck system, and I'm going to use a two dimensional array. the x-axis would be the suits:hearts diamonds, spades and clubs and the y-axis would be the values 1-13.
