Had my surgery today. The actual operation was only like 30 minutes, with the anesthetic lasting around an hour. The rest of the 6 hours was just sitting around, waiting for the doctor and them.
The anesthetic was injected into my via a needle, and it worked almost instantly. One moment I was lying on my side, the other I was lying in a bed struggling to move. Whole body was heavy, hard to open my eyes. I don't remember much of what was happening as soon as I woke up.
